Awkward law school moment: II
So today, I ran into my Torts professor at the foot of a staircase. Just the two of us were on the staircase, so I had no choice but to talk to him. He was carrying a briefcase. I looked at it and said “Man, with that midterm this afternoon I am feeling tempted to trespass your chattels.*” We exchanged an awkward silence, and I pointed to his briefcase and hastily attempted to explain “Because…you know…the midterm is in there…oh god…I should…Have a nice…See you in…” and then I slowly backed out of the stairway.
*Trespass to chattels is a tort where the infringing party has intentionally interfered with another person’s lawful possession of a chattel (movable personal property).
