Minneapolis and Law School

a collection of moments and memories from a native south carolinian and her boyfriend as they spend time in the beautiful city of minneapolis trying to survive graduate school.

I am really excited for tonight… you may not know that I am participating in RCIA at the Basilica in downtown Minneapolis. Basically, RCIA is grown-up Catholic school. This week we have a special guest speaker, Rabbi Sim Glaser, who will be discussing Hebrew Scriptures and the Importance of Covenant & Tradition. I am especially excited for this meeting because he supposed to be a very dynamic (read: moonlights as a stand-up comedian) speaker.

RCIA is an ongoing program which started in early September and will last until April. The class has an amazing group of over 50 sponsors and, as we students are called, “inquirers.” If you get a chance to read about what RCIA is and does, you should. Its been incredible so far, and the only reason it hasn’t been mentioned in the “blawg” is that we’re all still getting to know one another, and so much of it is sharing that it has been hard to share my own experiences without sharing those of the people I am talking with. However, I matched up with a beautiful and inspiring sponsor last week so I will perhaps ask her permission to mention our interactions on this here blog.

I hope to have some fun comments on tonights presentation, though.

Also, I wore one of Joe’s button-downs to school today without his permission. But it was a little chilly and its flannel and I love it, and I’m not sorry.
